Description
The wide valley of Pineta, almost 17 km long, was also formed by glaciers. The River Cinca, the source of which lies under the impressive masses of ice that blanket the north face of Monte Perdido in the Ibón de Marboré, flows between the high valley walls that rise from a 1,500 m.a.s.l. base to the 2,600-metre height of the crest of the Sierra de Tucas on its right bank. Pine and beech forests, meadows and patches of scabland mix and fill any space that isn’t vertical, bathing the magical landscape in a subtle palette of shades and colours.
